does dick sporting goods have decent bikes?

im looking for a cheap bike but i hear department stores suck so now im looking at sporting goods stores. they have diamond back and they look like good bikes.

No, they are a little better then Walmart bikes but not much. Go to the local bike shop. Bob A
No after the sale service, like a real bike shop. The quality is a bit better. But, the assembly may be questionable too. I’m sorry…I just don’t trust any big box store or discount store to assemble a bike properly.
I’d have to say get one from Dick’s Sporting Goods if that’s the best you can do – but make D&%# sure everything works right before leaving the store with it…right down to the air pressure in the tires. Then find a good bike shop. You may want to ask them to inspect the bike also.
Diamondback & Raleigh are basically the same company. It’s just that they sell some Diamondbacks in sporting goods stores & Raleighs specifically through dealers. Old Hippie
If the store has a repair shop, a stock room and an on staff mechanic, fine. If not, you are no better off than in a department or big box store. mtrlbiker
