Please no biases. I want to understand about what has passed in congress (I’m assuming nation-wide health care) and what has been the difficulty with deciding on what to pass. Thank you!

In all honesty, the Americans have. The majority of Americans want this (or at least some kind of health care reform), and it’s very apparent that it’s very needed. We’ve made it to be as important as it is. ~~Erin~~ Sophie due July 20th!

It wasn’t HC Reform that passed. It was CALLED HC Reform.

The Senate signed an unread unfinished Bill into law.

Now Obama will sign it to.

This is PEOPLE Reform not HC Reform.

All the new legislation is directed at the people.

All the mandates are directed at the people.

    What about HC Reform?

    What about prices of policies?

    What about rate increases?

The Bill protects the Ins Company not the people.

This bill is FOR the HC Insurance Companies. Linda K Texan for Life

The majority of Americans do not want this type of overhaul. We as a nation are broke, there is massive unemployment, we have over 20 million illegals running around destroying our society, we are involved in two wars, crime is rampant on the border of Mexico, and the progressive party headed by obama felt it was more important to increase our debt another 2.5 trillion dollars to ensure illegals had access to health care. linda K texan for life. it was read or at the very least had more than enough time to read and understand it.

maybe you should read it like I did.

gogo girls. it wasn’t for illegals, it will cover illegals in need of emergency care for life threatening injuries.

the cost is 1 trillion, 500 billion of which will be paid from wasted spendature already in the system.

oh yeah and nevermind the people who need affordable health care, or health care that doesn’t drop the bills and leave after surgery (me), or health care that will cover them in the first place. Volbia

kiddo this was never about health or care, this is about population control.the gov.will control your life till you die. imcmn4u

  6. sociald says:

Polls all along showed the usa didnt want this bill more than 50% of hte poeple anyway. Pelosi has an all time low approval rating ( 11% ). Obama’s approval is below 50% now. But it was pushed through through the far left wing and the loud minority.
Yes people do want reform. they do want insurance and want it to be affordable. They just didnt want this. But it was all or nothing.
Its a war of ideologies is what it comes down to I think. sociald

  7. Kave Dast says:

You mean what led health care reform to be so important to OBAMA? That is because one of his family members died and didn’t have insurance (probably because they couldn’t get a job) and he wanted to change it ever since he was shooting hoops in Chicago just 5 years ago. And wouldn’t ya know it. Now he is president and because that one family member died he is going to cause all working people to be effected drastically. Kave Dast

  8. Mr. Trump says:

The current health care system is f*cked up and needs an overhaul. Almost everyone agreeds on that… however the disagreements come from “how” to overhaul it and “who” benefits and “who” pays.. etc.

Dems… want to be more like Europe and other countries and make healthcare free for all. CONS want it to be like the jungle before the days of civilization where the weak are left to parish while the strong, dishonest, connected (white male) rises to the top and controls / exploits everything to his advantage. Mr. Trump

  9. My Business Plan says:

It is important because the majority of the American population believe there is a better way to meet the needs of the people.
And Obama did promise to shine the light on the business as usual stuff that goes on in Washington.
I’ll give him credit for Showing the people exactly how our government works.
A lot of people are shocked ! My Business Plan

  10. badlands307 says:

Mostly what it has to do with is the controlling of people. The more dependent you are on the government for your daily livelihood the less likely you will turn against/or vote against it. Important issues such as medical malpractice fraud and workers’ compensation fraud, that dramatically affect the cost of health care, ARE NOT EVEN MENTIONED!

Unlike the paranoid people who were worried about the Patriot Act (which Obama renewed anyway) this health care reform will make your personal medical history semi-public to government employees. You do not need to be a terror suspect either. Simply one of the tens-of-millions of Americans that will soon be lap dogs of the government.

What’s funny is that much of this plan does not begin until 2014 when Obama will be long gone and smoking cigars in Venezuela. badlands307

Inflation adjusted insurance premiums have nealy doubled over the last decade and for a family of 4 is now almost 1/3 the median wage. meg

  12. Mario says:

The difficulty has been that some believe that it was ok for 30 to 40 million americans to have no form of health care but an Emergency room. Others had no problem with the thousands yearly going bankrupt because of an operation or medical emergency they could not afford to pay since they had no coverage.
Most small business never thought of providing insurance to their employees since they could not afford it yet that was also ok even though majority of americans work in small businesses.
Now with this new health care plan:

Small businesses will receive significant tax cuts, this year, to help them afford health coverage for all their employees.

Seniors will receive a rebate to reduce drug costs not yet covered under Medicare.

Young people will be allowed coverage under their parents’ plan until the age of 26.

Early retirees will receive help to reduce premium costs.

These are changes that for years our country needed but no President could pass until now this will turn our country around from the mess it was left in. Mario

  13. Blue says:

Frivolous lawsuits, rising cost in living and services, and hospitals compensating providing uninsured with care have caused cost of medical needs and insurance to skyrocket. We do need a change in the system.

However, what passed today makes healthcare a police state “do it our way or face the consequences” which is wrong in a supposed free society.

The difficulty was Obama bribing his congressional peer group to vote how he wanted them to and giving a big middle finger to the american people.

Now people who are already struggling to get by without assistance will have to pay for others. Welfare and gov. assistance used to be a shameful thing. The government is breeding a lazy generation and this opens us up so many weaknesses. Blue
