The fructose in the bananas, and the processed carbs in the bread itself both trigger a very high gylcemic response. This means it causes your blood sugar to shoot through the roof, which then causes your body to store most of the calories as fat, among other problems.
well…eating pancakes are not bad until unless u maintain u r diet with balance..i suggest…eating pancake ONLY make your body stave for required vitamins and minerals and protein as well.. which u can get from other food…so eating pancakes only for long run will make you unhealthy and you may get unhealthy calories …to keep your total health in sound you need other nutrition ..eat other healthy food to keep u r self fit also..eat pancake but not only pancakes..
It really depends on the source and size of your pancakes. Pancakes for the most part are nothing more than a gigantic source of carbohydrates since they’re effectively just a quick bread. Adding the banana is more of a flavor enhancement than a health boost but at least it’s better than nothing. Keep in mind that unless you’re active, most carbs turn into fat!
Since you state that you’re diabetic, you should probably consult a doctor or nutritionist to determine a proper diet plan to determine your needs for fruits, grains, etc.
For example, the USDA recommends 130 carbohydrates per day, and the recipe I found for banana pancakes states 29.5 grams per serving of 2 pancakes. Keep in mind a pancake in this recipe is only 1/4 of batter which is not that much when compared to restaurant pancakes which are traditionally larger and less healthy than the home-cooked alternative. The nutrition facts also don’t put the butter/peanut butter/syrup/etc that you’re putting on them.
There might be two things to worry about for your health question to be answered fully. The banana’s have potassium in them. Great for your heart but too much potassium and it can also be really bad for it too. Potassium can cause damage to the heart so be careful about that. Then there is the batter that these pancakes are made with. The flour has carbohydrates. Too much of this will put the pounds on very quickly if you don’t exercise routinely. I might be wrong, but this might carry complex carbs, which is an even larger problem all the way around. This will effect not only your waist but the gallbladder too. Then if you also add any type of syrup the sugar in that is packed full of deliscous calories any way you look at it you are eating allot of calories, carbs and potassium in just one plate. So, the key word is still moderation with anything you eat. Granted some things you will just prefer to eat, but that doesn’t make it good for you either. If you are only eating these for one meal then count them wisely in one of the earliest, that way you have allot of time to work the calories off. The potassium and gallbladder effect you’ll need to decide about. Now you can make an informed one. For any info on potassium and gallbladder problems you can go to webmd.com . Good luck and God Bless
