My son was just denied health coverage from a private insurance company. He needs medical insurance. I heard that this new law will do away with ‘pre-existing conditions.’ He recently had surgery on his hand from a stabbing. Will this new health care law go back and help pay for the surgery and anything he needs such as physical therapy?

If this health care reform bill goes though, then we’re all going to be paying for the illegals health care coverage. How do you all personal feel about that?

If so why do health care opponents use the possibility of it to scare people from supporting health care reform?

Rationing: Denying coverage for certain procedures based on the cost of the procedures among other things.

Its 17% of the economy, is of strategic importance to our nation, and we need to control cost. This bill gets us to that point, and it ensures that Americans wont have their health coverage dropped by arbitrary decisions by the insurance industry.

If the GOP had wanted to do anything about health care, they wouldve done it between 2000-2008. For them, the system isnt broken. It delivers big profits to their corporate buddies.

As an elderly couple we have just spent over $1000. this month, with what they take out of social security, supplemental insurance to pay for the 20% the medicare doesn’t cover, the deductable for drug program. Now our government wants to give illegals free health care, because they aren’t insured. Has this country gone crazy? What on earth are our troops fighting for, while the government gives the country away? Our family worked all our productive life, served in wars and paid for the education of our children. For what?
Kathy-is- the drug companies don’t do anything except get wealthier. You have to be illegal or in poverty to get help. We pay our entire social security out for health care and our savings will not last if we live to be much older.
pimpslaph- In 1999 we had excellent health care and drug coverage, so you can’t blame it on the democrats.

Could we start a ground swell to create a new constitutional amendment that would make it illegal and cause for immediate removal from office if any member of either house of congress has Health Coverage that is better that the poorest of the poor in America? Isn’t it HMO’s, Insurance Companies, and their influences and lobbies that make sure that the very rich and the power brokers have the best health care simply because they can afford it or legislate it for themselves.

Or are they counting on the voters being too stupid to know that tax supported health coverage will raise the already indecent prices fixed by the medical industry and end up with less health care than ever?

Should we take free health care away from the politicians since they are so out of touch with reality?

I know that many countries provide public-funded health care coverage to most/all citizens. But do any of these health care programs include dental coverage?

I would like to know why some people outright refuse health care coverage in any form.

Too much money is spent foolishly by the US both here and abroad. I would like to see the focus shift to take better care of the people in this country with universal health care coverage.
