Megan C asked:

To me, health care is something that shouldn’t be driven by profiting on the misery of others.

On the flip side, our health care needs shouldn’t be handled and decided by a bunch of bureaucrats in Washington D.C.

So is there some happy medium? Perhaps a nonprofit solution?

non-profit public option means death to insurance companies, they are throwing hundreds of millions at that propaganda campaign to prevent it. I find that a nonprofit idea to be an awesome idea. I think a lot of people simply have a problem with the government taking control of health care or anything for that matter. Also, its appauling to find your sick and dying loved ones not being taken care of while the medical industry enjoys billions of dollars in profit.

Democracy is not about government expansions. Why not pass several laws to ensure healthcare for everyone without giving the power to the government. Gary T
