In today’s NY Times, Gov Peterson of New York says the state will have to cut health care and education because of a $12.5 billion deficit. Other states are also facing worsening fiscal conditions. The states are just mirroring the federal problems – there is no money to pay for old programs, let alone start new ones in the worst recession in 70 years.

Before fixing one problem you need to address another problem. The Debt and lack of available money. I support Universal Health Care but the current financial structure would not be able to support it. I do not find this a realistic goal and what the country needs now is cut backs not expansion.

In other countries that have socialized health care, they pay 1/2 of their income in taxes. Do Americans really think they will be getting free, anything?

If poor people die because they have no health care won’t that make our country richer?

We are not running a charity in this country how dare they dream of equals rights to health care!!

Universal Health Care is a MUST for our futures. Anyone who disputes this can afford health care and/or doesnt want to help out other people and is completely selfish. I’ve seen some of the debating, but I’m confused by it all. I thought Hillary Clinton had good ideas, but now Im starting to wonder if she is actually going to follow through. So… Who do YOU think is the best candidate that will give us Universal Health Care, and why?

I just read his health care reform plan and there is no mention of freeing up the perscription market by allowing importing of medication. I am uninsured and have a chronic illness. I want to take care of myself, as the republicans preach, however the medicine here is far too expensive, currently I pay over $500 a month.

My dad owns a small business and says that Obama wants to mandate all business to provide health care to their employees. He said this would put him out of business. I looked it up and it looks like small businesses are exempt. Can anyone confirm this? And what about McCain’s view on this?

Not only has he lost ground, but public support for his health care proposal has collapsed to the point that a majority of Americans prefer no reform at all to his plan. And the more he stumps for it, the less support it attracts. Rather than a peripheral phenomenon, the noisy opposition in congressional town hall meetings turns out to be a reflection of the deep national suspicion of Obamacare.

I remember when Bill Clinton began his presidency, Hillary was in charge of the Health Care reform and she failed. But now the Clinton camp is marking it as a plus as it shows her devotion to healthcare reform. But does it question her competency to adminstrate and get results? And does this experience endorse her claim that she should become the President of United States?

Look at what happened at Walter Reed — a government-run health care facility.

Liberals: if the government can’t give adequate medical care to our heroic soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan … what makes you think it can take care of YOU?
